Rear Facing Seat or Capsule

The safest way for a baby to travel. Like a baby capsule, it faces the rear of the car, so in a crash the force spreads across your baby's back, head and neck. If you need a capsule specifically, tell us when you book and we confirm what is available.

Forward Facing Seat

Once your child outgrows the rear facing limit, a forward facing seat with a built in five point harness protects the whole upper body. Suitable from around 6 months, once your child can sit upright, to about 4 years.

Toddlers · 9 kg to 18 kg · Up to 4 years

Booster Seat

When your child outgrows the harness seat, a booster lifts them so the car's own seat belt sits correctly across the body. In Victoria, children under 7 must use a child restraint or booster in private cars, hire cars and rideshare.

Not every taxi carries one, so request it when you book. Choose the child seat option, tell us your child's age, and we fit the right seat before pickup. This applies to every trip, including airport runs.

For a newborn or young baby we fit a rear facing seat, which faces the same way as a baby capsule. Tell us your baby's age when you book and we confirm the right restraint. If you need a capsule specifically, say so when you book.

Yes. Choose two seats in the booking form so we send a suitable vehicle. Two seats fit more easily in an SUV or Maxi Van than in a standard sedan.

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own approved capsule, seat or booster, and your driver will help secure it at no charge. Or skip the carrying and we fit one for you.

Transport Victoria says taxi drivers do not have to provide child restraints. Under its rules for taxis, a baby under one must travel in the back seat and can be held by the adult travelling with them, and a child aged one or over must have their own seat, using a seat belt only when no child restraint or booster is available. If a suitable seat is in the car, or you bring your own, it should be used. Rideshare and hire cars follow the same rules as private cars, so children under 7 need a child restraint or booster. A properly fitted seat is much safer than a seat belt or an adult's lap, so we recommend one for every young child. Read the child restraint rules on Transport Victoria. Every seat is cleaned and sanitised before each booking. We do not share seats between trips without cleaning. Hygiene matters more when you are transporting infants and young children and we treat it accordingly.

Yes. The child restraints we carry are certified to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1754. The Australian Design Rules cover the vehicle itself, including the anchor points a child seat attaches to.
